Political Creed of УYouth Human Rights GroupФ: Juvenocracy and Invocation of the Varangians

So often we hear from our elders: Уtoo young, too greenФ, УdonТt teach your granny to suck eggsФ, Уlive our long, then argueФ etc. These and the like phrases bear, it seems, the experience of hard mistakes and sleepless nights of those people of elder generation, who have made their progress from pithecanthropus to Homo Sapiens and found out how to arrange our life reasonably and fairly. They view the youth, from the top of their age, as something second-rate and underdeveloped, taking hard knocks on their way, painfully learning on their own mistakes. We doubt all that is true. It is not for all that age brings wisdom and perfection. УThey sing of old, of old they speak, Not noticing, Сtis said of them, The old wine-skins must leakФ.
A normal conflict between fathers and sons has taken pathological forms in our country. The Soviet gerontocracy has built a strict hierarchy with strict subordination. The Soviet Уbarrack-roomФ administrative system has beaten into the heads of generations its own political values. After the Second World War in Germany all people linked to Nazi regime were denied access to power to abort their influence on the nascent democratic society. Success followed: today BRD is one of the most developed democracies. Unfortunately, new Russia in her time missed a chance to become a truly new country with real democracy. The narrow-minded jerks upstairs gave way to the generation of Komsomol ex-leaders. The ex-sycophants were favored as well. Today they occupy the chief offices, smelling of cynicism, servility, greed and ideological brainwash. The УexesФ in the ministries of education, culture, in the mayorТs office, the government, anywhere Ц is a disgusting survival of the Soviet system, as well as the Mass Media controlled by the alumni of the PartyТs High School. Remember the sometime popular slogan: УWhen the Party says: УWe must!Ф, Komsomol replies: УWe will!ФФ. Without thinking, simply carrying out an order. УHe was the chief with the most supple neckФ. Today the ex-Komsomol is at the helm. These people are 45-55 years of age. They want to thrust their own system of values, utterly devoid of justice and moral, on the whole nation at all costs. These are the cynical people who were playing up to the Secretary General then and are sucking up to the president now. УIt was the age obedient and timid, All in the name of zealous faith to TzarЕФ Yes, servility, embezzlement and bureaucracy are the serious and contagious illnesses of the big shots.
I argue that these people, morally degraded but successful in obtaining power and wealth, are nowadays trying their best to get the youth down, strangle any non-formal, non-official, free youth movement. The main motive of this attitude is envy for the independent and free youth and an inferiority complex. It is called juvenophobia Ц a fear of the younger people. The officials failed youth policy. Young people are absolutely unprotected Ц socially, physically, ideologically. Absolutely! They take no part in running their country. But these people continue to preside over the innumerable youth departments, ministries and offices, run colleges and schools. The school-graduate today is on the level of the development of a nine-year old child! We have no press entry, radio or TV channel reflecting the true interests of the youth.
The school of today is going through a profound crisis, caused by the following reasons: shortage of qualified staff, absence of initiative teachers, overcrowded classes, which exclude individual approach to a student, personal teaching programs. The school curriculum does not meet the demands of real life and cannot face the challenges of the time. All this hurdles creative, intellectual and personal development of young people, brings forth social apathy and timeserving. Such things as general cribbing is a sign of a defective system of education. Having graduated from the university I still have to overcome the pullback of school education, which cripples both mind and soul.
Self-organization and independence of the youth sometimes take in this connection crippled forms. On February, 23, for instance, student trade union of PetrSU launched an action, in which students were to eat military porrige, wear camouflage and be photographed. The union must have been proud of making such a trick. They must be unaware that every year 3000 soldiers in army die and 5000 desert. The tragedy of private Sychov and other victims of dedovschina didnТt bother the students. They expressed no protest on their behalf. They also keep silence concerning the low quality of education, miserable scholarship etc. Has the free spirit of Russian youth extinguished forever?
Not long ago a pro-rector for pedagogical work tore down from the walls of PetrSU information lists inviting to visit a lecture УYouth between bureaucracy, brain-drain and revolutionФ. Later it was found out that the paedagogus was scared by the word УrevolutionФ, so he prevented it, letting its bullets hit his breast. But the bureaucracy corroding the country and the loss of intellectual potential donТt seem to make him anxious. So, if before power forced outstanding people to go abroad, now it simply ignores them and they leave the country on their own. Who remain, are the watchful citizens, looking that nothing УqueerФ should happen. And mother-Russia flourish with these anthropoids. Through our bulletin the country will know the name of this modest Karelian counter-revolutionary and his УdeedФ.
The power is beating youth down! Monstrous slavery on conscription for all males from 18! It maims soul and body, disables a person. Who lets this order to thrive? The state tolerates slave-trade and child prostitution, homelessness, corruption, fascisation of the society.
In spite of encouragement young people get blamed, have morals read and banns imposed. Old fat cats with flaccid, apathetical faces sit in the government. They want youth to be socially passive and infantile, they want it lose the advantages of its wonderful age and be like these living corpses. What does youth mean, first of all? It means futurism Ц an ecstatic burst into the unknown, the transcendental. Maximalism Ц high demands for others and oneself. Optimism Ц joyful worldview, which allows a person to see bright sides, believe in future, in success. Here the spontaneous laugh is a feature of overflowing vital energy and mirth found in life. Naughtiness Ц a provocative conduct, breaking the generally accepted way of behavior. Boundless trust in oneself and in future. Curiosity. Radicalism Ц acting determinedly. Humanism Ц humane attitude towards people. Sincerity Ц genuine feelings, veracity. Enthusiasm Ц strong impulse, deep keenness. Unselfishness Ц no care for profit, no centering on material boon. Excitement Ц a readiness to risk, excitement. Good qualities, arenТt they, which could put new life into out country? Why do we still speak of this in subjunctive mood? Why the vitality and great capacities of youth stay uncalled, and more than that Ц are oppressed?
The idea of juvenocracy belongs to our great philosopher J.V. Linnik and Youth Human Rights Group fully shares and adopts it. We insist on the immediate change of the paradigm of power. The control of the state should be given to the new generation of young people which must bring into politics all the advantages of its age and values, cure power from corruption and cynicism, raise economy, built a democracy and inspire the nation, make it happy. It is conscious, democratic youth 16 to 34 that must occupy the top offices and with all its energy launch drastic reforms, changing the mentality of Russian nation, overcoming such social diseases as alcoholism, apathy, poverty. To attain this, it is necessary to lower the electoral age to 16 years of age and limit access to power for people over 34. Power for the young! Hail to the juvenile revolution, the renovation and rejuvenescence of power! Better a Little Prince than a Naked King!
The second idea is the invocation of the Varangians. The country is agonizing. We need an influx of fresh blood, fresh resources. And as sometimes the Novgorodians invoked the Varangians, who acted in their interests, so we today call for the foreigners to rule our country and revive it. We are no xenophobes. We are really tolerant people and we go further than our Novgorodian ancestors, inviting not only Europeans to our land, but as well the Asians, the representatives of the Arab world. A Russian is globally sympathetic. LetТs prove that indeed! We are not able today to solve our problems ourselves: raise agriculture, building infrastructure, health protection and education. Let us trust and support those who has achieved brilliant results in these fields Ц our neighbors all over the planet from the developed countries of the world! They are already helping us today, unlike the aboriginal governors, following their own primitive and selfish ends, punishing any healthy initiative and silly scroungers businessmen who donТt give a damn about social policy. Both government and opposition powder our brains: they are the birds of one nest. They are both milking the nation and nature, exhausting them to the full. We donТt want to live that way any more, tolerating social iniquity, provided poverty and odious tricks of fattened plebes. Long live Varangian Russia! Welcome to our country all who want to raise it from its knees and provide a decent living for its every inhabitant.
